The mafia wife aesthetic micro-trend to fashion month trend.
There have already been so many well-articulated commentary videos and think pieces of this micro trend that TikTok has manifested almost out of thin air...did you catch my sarcasm? I hope so because let me tell you something as an older Gen Z with heavy influence from the millennial generation, this trend could've had a better name because news flash to the Italian American women who are quite literally dragging other girls who are participating in this micro trend, Italians weren't the only mob in the world, just the only ones glamorized by American media.
Tiktok has made following trends impossible because of how fast they past by, following trends on TikTok has been taken far too seriously but it has brought up a great conversation on what's going on with overconsumption and finding your own personal style otherwise you're throwing money away switching aesthetics for a trend so often.

But TikTokers aren't the only ones loving this trend, even designers during fashion month are playing into it. Designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Dior, Zimmerman, and so many more.

Personally, while I don't care for the drama that is only on TikTok over this trend, this is the type of fashion I truly like. It's sexy, moody, overstated in the most simple (to me) way. I love dramatic jackets, cheetah print, long nails, chunky accessories, and simple label pushing (think that dark red embossed Gucci coat). It can be maximal and minimal and I love every second of it, there's no need to get into the nitty-gritty of what it means to be apart of the mob, fashion is supposed to be all about self-expression and finding yourself.
